If you have a Chase credit card, you can earn Chase points through your everyday purchases and redeem them in several different ways. The Chase app makes it easy to track your rewards, see how many points you have, and choose how you want to use them.
The best redemption option depends on which Chase card you have. Here is how to track and redeem your Chase points through the Chase app.
How to Track Your Chase Points
Start by opening the Chase app. From the main screen, tap More in the bottom-right corner.
Scroll down until you find the Rewards & Benefits section. You will see several options, including:
- Track rewards
- Explore benefits
- Cash back
- Redeem points
- Refer a friend
To see how you have been earning Chase points, tap Track rewards. The app will ask you to choose which Chase account you want to view.
If you have multiple Chase cards, they will all appear on the screen. Select the card you want to check.
You will then see your recent activity and how many points each purchase earned. You can filter the activity and sort the transactions to make it easier to find specific purchases.
This gives you a transaction-by-transaction history of your Chase points.
For example, if you have a Prime Visa and make an eligible $70 Amazon purchase that earns 5% back, you could receive 351 points. Since each point is worth 1 cent when redeemed for cash back, 351 points are worth $3.51.
You can also see previous redemptions in your activity. A redemption may appear as a negative number, showing how many points you used.
Redeem Chase Points for Cash Back
If you want to turn your Chase points into cash, go back to the Rewards & Benefits section and tap Cash back.
Choose the Chase card you want to use. The next screen will show your available rewards balance and its cash value.
For example, 1,576 Chase points would be worth $15.76 in cash back.
You can generally choose from several ways to receive your cash back.
Statement Credit
You can redeem your points for a statement credit. The money is applied toward your Chase card balance, reducing the amount you owe.
Deposit Into a Chase Bank Account
If you have an eligible Chase checking account, you can deposit your cash back directly into that account.
Deposit Into an External Bank Account
You can also send your cash back to an eligible external bank account. This means you do not necessarily need to bank with Chase to receive the money in your preferred account.
If your bank account is not already connected, you may have an option to add another account.
Once you select your preferred redemption method, follow the prompts to confirm the transaction.

How Much Are Chase Points Worth?
For cash back, Chase points are generally worth 1 cent per point. That means:
- 100 points = $1
- 1,000 points = $10
- 10,000 points = $100
- 50,000 points = $500
This makes cash back a simple way to calculate the value of your Chase points.
However, cash back is not always the best option. Depending on your Chase card, you may be able to get more value from your points by using them for travel.
Other Ways to Redeem Chase Points
To see all your redemption options, return to Rewards & Benefits and tap Redeem points.
You will see your available rewards at the top of the screen, followed by the different ways you can use your points.
Shop With Points at Amazon
Some Chase cards allow you to use your points directly at Amazon checkout.
You can apply your available points toward an eligible Amazon purchase instead of paying entirely with your card.
For many cards, this option provides the standard 1-cent-per-point value, so it may not offer better value than taking cash back.
Cash Back
The cash back option lets you redeem your points for a statement credit or an eligible bank deposit.
This is often the simplest choice if you want to use your rewards as actual money.
Gift Cards
You may also be able to redeem Chase points for gift cards from participating retailers and restaurants.
Before choosing this option, check whether Chase is offering a promotion. From time to time, certain gift cards may be available for fewer points than their normal value.
For example, a $25 gift card might occasionally cost 2,000 points instead of 2,500 points. That gives you more value from the same number of points.
It is worth checking the gift card section before automatically choosing cash back.
Redeem Chase Points for Travel
Travel is where Chase points can become significantly more valuable, depending on the card you have.
If your card gives you access to Chase Travel, you may be able to use your points toward flights, hotels, rental cars, and other travel bookings.
The value of your points depends on your specific Chase card.
With a Chase Sapphire Preferred, points can be worth 1.25 cents each when redeemed through Chase Travel.
With a Chase Sapphire Reserve, points can be worth 1.5 cents each when redeemed through Chase Travel.
That means 10,000 points could be worth:
- $100 as cash back
- $125 toward eligible travel with Sapphire Preferred
- $150 toward eligible travel with Sapphire Reserve
That’s a significant difference for the same number of points.
Which Chase Points Redemption Option Should You Choose?
The best option depends on your Chase card.
If you have a Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, or Prime Visa, cash back can be a straightforward choice when your points have the same basic value across the available redemption options.
If you have a Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve, using your points through Chase Travel can provide more value than simply cashing them out.
Before redeeming your points, check the value you will receive from each option. A few extra seconds of comparison could make your rewards worth significantly more.
Why You Should Not Hoard Chase Points
It can be tempting to save thousands of Chase points for years, especially if you are working toward a big trip.
However, points do not earn interest like money in a savings account. Their redemption value can also change if a card issuer changes its rewards program.
Instead of automatically holding onto a large balance indefinitely, have a plan for how you want to use your Chase points.
Whether you choose cash back, gift cards, Amazon purchases, or travel, the important thing is to understand the value you are getting before you redeem.
Checking your Chase points regularly also makes it easier to spot your rewards, track your redemptions, and make sure you are getting the most from your Chase card.
